Aaron Tippin, Joe Diffie and Sammy Kershaw To Release Collaborative Album Together On 5/28

Aaron Tippin, Joe Diffie and Sammy Kershaw are joining forces to release All in the Same Boat, a collaborative album inspired by the trio's current tour, "Roots & Boots".  The 12-track album is set for national sales release on May 28, 2013 on Big Hit Records.

"The idea for this album came about after the success of our 'Roots & Boots' tour," notes Kershaw.  "Joe and Aaron and I go out together on the road and play and do our hits and the fans go nuts… so we thought, 'why not just make this tour an album?'"

The 12-track album features all-new music as well as freshly recorded versions of a few familiar songs like Tippin's smash hit "Kiss This" and Kershaw's 1993 chart topper "She Don't Know She's Beautiful."

"I decided to go with two brand new songs and one old Neil Young song, 'Heart of Gold,' for my tunes on the album," says Diffie.  "I think fans will really enjoy the whole thing.  We had as much fun making the album as we do on the road!"

"Joe and Sammy are my brothers and I'm so glad we were able to find the time to record this album together," Tippin adds.  "We also shot a music video for 'All in the Same Boat.'  It's one of those with a surprise ending and somehow, we all three survived!" (Watch the 'All in the Same Boat' music video HERE).

Fans can pre-order All in the Same Boat on iTunes and Amazon beginning May 14, 2013.

National Daughters of the American Revolution Presents Aaron Tippin With DAR Founder’s Medal for Patriotism

Award-winning, country music recording artist, songwriter and producer, Aaron Tippin (who is most recognized for his patriotic smash hit single “Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly,” among others) was honored at the DAR 118th Continental Congress for his outstanding dedication and service to American troops and their families.

Tippin was presented with the DAR Founders Medal for Patriotism by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) on National Defense Night (the evening of Friday, July 10, 2009) at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.—near the White House. Aaron Tippin Awarded For His Music & Patriotism

Country music recording artist, songwriter and producer, Aaron Tippin (who is most recognized for his patriotic smash hit single “Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly,” among others) will be honored at the DAR 118th Continental Congress in Mid-July for his outstanding dedication and service to American troops and their families.

Tippin will be presented with the DAR Founders Medal for Patriotism by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). DAR was founded in 1890 by four women whose common bond was that they each had ancestors who were patriots of the American Revolution. The founders of the DAR sought to create an organization that would "perpetuate the memory and spirit of the women and men who achieved American independence." DAR is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) charitable organization dedicated to patriotism, historic preservation and education.

“This is an honor for which I am without words,” said Tippin. “Regardless of what we think is right or wrong, or politically correct or incorrect, the bottom line is that our American brothers and sisters are fighting for our freedom—to speak freely and live freely. I do not take their sacrifices lightly. This is a privilege and I feel the absolute necessity to recognize those who make it possible. It’s just a part of who I am…to support men and women who are willing to ‘stand for something’ and I will continue to ‘stand’ for them.”

As a supporter and frequent traveler to visit and perform for our American brothers and sisters in uniform, in Iraq and Afghanistan each year, Tippin understands and has experienced first-hand the importance of extending care, compassion and lending support to our troops. He completed his first USO tour during the Gulf War where he entertained soldiers in the Gulf Coast alongside Bob Hope. In 2002, Aaron made his first trip to visit troops in Afghanistan; he’s made annual visits to our forces in Iraq over the past six consecutive years.

CD Review- Aaron Tippin- In Overdrive

The Background
The album of country classics is dedicated to trucking professionals and features Aaron's versions of "East Bound and Down," "Six Days on the Road," "Drivin' My Life Away" and many others. Also included as a bonus track is "Drill Here, Drill Now," which gained national attention this past year. "I've had my heart set on doing this album for a long time," Aaron says. "Now, with the current economic state, I'm reminded of the unsung heroes of the road, that legion of devoted Americans, some four million strong, whomake their living in the trucking industry.”

The Review
Back in the late 70’s and early 80’s as I was riding around in on the pleather seat of my mom’s baby blue Lincoln Continental, the sound coming from her two speaker AM radio was classic country STORY songs the likes of Coward of the County and The Gambler from Kenny Rogers. They were chapters of real life set to a 3-minute soundtrack. Here, Aaron Tippin has taken a chapter of his own life- he was a truck driver prior to being a smash country music singer- and built a great themed album on life on the highway. Tippin's muse for this record is the late Jerry Reed, who brought truckin' music into the pop charts for the first time in the 1970s, and continued to write it for the rest of his life. This set could have been recorded 30 or 40 years ago save for the modern production sounds. Tippin's hard Southern dialect and his feel for this collection of classic tunes that translate time and space. It’s great fun listening.

Sounds Like:
A Modern Day Jerry Reed & Don Williams

Track Highlights (suggested iPod adds):
East Bound And Down
The Ballad of Danger Dave and Double Trouble
White Knight

The Verdict:
Four Stars Out Of Five

Aaron Tippin To Release "In Overdrive" on February 3rd

One of the hardest working guys in country music has just finished a brand new album called In Overdrive which debuts February 3 on NIPPIT - Country Crossing Records. Aaron Tippin co-produced the album with Tim Grogan and the executive producer is label head James Stroud.

This album of country classics was created for the American trucking professional and the people who care about them. And when it comes to picking, recording and sequencing songs for an album like this, Aaron Tippin qualifies for this honor in a big way. His unique perspective comes from his own fair share of time spent behind the wheel of the big rigs and the lifestyle that goes with it.

"I've had my heart set on doing this album for a long time," Tippin recalls. "Now, with the current economic state, I'm reminded of the unsung heroes of the road, that legion of devoted Americans, some 4 million strong, who make their living in the trucking industry and hammer down, day after day. And I wanted to make this record for them."Tippin always loved everything about the trucking industry. "It's part of my chemical makeup I guess," he explains. "I love the way the trucks look, the shine, the mechanics, the ride, roar and the ruckus you feel when you pass a monster convoy or experience hundred of tough-looking rigs rolling into a trucking convention or NASCAR race. I can appreciate the tireless and ongoing mammoth effort that goes into moving America... I'm humbled to thank my friends in the trucking business by singing my favorite road songs for them as we all roll on down the road."

In Overdrive will be available on the NIPPIT Records Country Crossing label, distributed by RED Distribution. Tracks include:

East Bound and Down
Truck Drivin' Man
Drivin' My Life Away
Six Days On The Road
Chicken Truck
The Ballad Of Danger Dave and Double Trouble
Prisoner of The Highway
Girl On The Billboard
Long White Line
Movin' On
White Knight
Roll On
Drivin' Fool
Drill Here, Drill Now (Bonus Track)

CD Review- We Are Enterprise

It's not often that an album comes out that is a must-have because it makes a difference, not just because it's a great one to have in your collection. We Are Enterprise- The Album To Benefit The Rebuilding Of Enterprise High School is one such album.

Country stars such as Clint Black, John Anderson, George Jones and Lorrie Morgan have contributed their talents to "We Are Enterprise" ($13.98, Country Crossing Records). It's a compilation CD, set for release today, that aims to raise money for the rebuilding of Enterprise High School. The school was severely damaged by a 2007 tornado that ripped off parts of the roof and destroyed the gym and football stadium.

Enterprise resident Ronnie Gilley, a real-estate developer and concert promoter, teamed with producer James Stroud to gather 11 songs for the CD, both originals and covers.
Tracks include "Someday" by Clink Black- a typical country inspirational ballad sung with typical Black feeling, "When I Get Down" by John Anderson- another great ballad from the man who brought us "Swingin" and "Dear Lord," a heartfelt honkytonk prayer by Tracy Lawrence. The album is worth the price alone with the near acapella acoustic "Amazing Grace" by George Jones. Shelly Fairchild's "It's All Going To Work Out" is a funky country message song and "You Are So Beautiful" by Lorrie Morgan is a beatufully sung rendition. Aaron Tippin can be heard on "Mighty Good God"; Darryl Worley offers "Katie's Song"; Joe Diffie covers "You've Got a Friend." Overall, nearly every song relays a message of hope and that everything for the good people of Enterprise, Alabama will be alright.
All aritsts and record label net proceeds from the album will be donated to the fund to rebuild Enterprise High School.

Country Music Comes To The Rescue Of A Community

On Thursday, March 1, 2007, the small town of Enterprise, AL (population just over 23,000) was struck by a massive EF4 tornado, leaving a swath of devastation in its wake. In the heart of the storm's path was Enterprise High School. The tornado ripped the roof from parts of the school, destroyed a hallway, the gymnasium and the football stadium. Eight students lost their lives in the devastation. In total, the storm was responsible for nine deaths and more than 120 injuries. With damages estimated at $307 million, the entire community was left paralyzed. Since then, the students of Enterprise High School have been attending classes in trailers and temporary outlets. The high school is due to be rebuilt by the 2010-11 school year at a cost of over $80 million.

Country Crossing Records has announced plans to release WE ARE ENTERPRISE: The Album To Help Rebuild Enterprise High School, a collection of moving and inspirational songs recorded by some of the most renowned names in country music to embrace the community of Enterprise, Alabama and assist in rebuilding the Enterprise High School. Spearheading the WE ARE ENTERPRISE project is Enterprise resident Ronnie Gilley (Ronnie Gilley Properties/Ronnie Gilley Entertainment/BamaJam Music & Arts Festival), who partnered with music industry legend James Stroud (producer for Tim McGraw, Toby Keith and Clint Black/Former president of Dreamworks Records-Nashville and co-chairman of Universal Music Group Nashville/President of Ronnie Gilley Entertainment and Stroudavarious Records). The pair, who executive produced the project, assembled an incredible cast of country music giants to create an extraordinary album to assist with the overwhelming cost of the construction of the new Enterprise High School.

"When Ronnie made me aware of the suffering his community had endured and the ongoing hardships facing its high school students and faculty, I wanted to help any way that I could," said Stroud. "We had the idea to craft an album that would not only help with the cost of rebuilding the school, but that would also uplift the community with its message. Once we started calling our artist friends and hearing their desire to lend their time and talent, we knew the idea would work."

WE ARE ENTERPRISE is stacked with songs contributed by award-winning, multi-platinum-selling, country music superstars Deborah Allen, John Anderson, Clint Black, Joe Diffie, Shelly Fairchild, George Jones, Tracy Lawrence, Richie McDonald, Lorrie Morgan, Aaron Tippin and Darryl Worley. The 11-song line-up features a number of new songs crafted exclusively for this project (Worley's "Katie's Song," "This Is The Time," by Deborah Allen and Shelly Fairchild's "It's All Gonna Work Out") plus some new takes on timeless classics ("You've Got A Friend" by Diffie, Morgan's "You Are So Beautiful" and "Amazing Grace" by Jones).

The album is slated for a December 16, 2008 release and will be available in retail outlets as well all major digital outlets (iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and WalMart.com). To commemorate the release within the Enterprise community, several of the artists will travel to Enterprise on street date to make two in-store appearances tentatively scheduled to take place at Wal*Mart locations in Enterprise and Dothan. (Information on participating artists and confirmed retail locations and times will be announced shortly.)

All record company and artist net proceeds from sales of the WE ARE ENTERPRISE will be donated to the fund for the rebuilding of the high school.

Aaron Tippin Saves The Day

One of the coolest things of country music is knowing that the person behind the mic singing to you is just a normal down-to-earth guy or gal that happens to love country music just as much as you do. This proves itself out every day when people meet those that fill up the airwaves. But it stuck out when this came out across the Associated Press wire this week:

"Aaron Tippin can add firefighting to his resume now. He and his wife were eating lunch at a restaurant near their home in Liberty, Tennessee, this week, when a call came over the scanner about a fire near their house. Tippin immediately rushed to the scene. He piloted a dozer to dig fire trenches and assisted local fire squads. It took crews several hours to fight the blaze, rescue livestock and secure Tippin's property. When it was all over, Tippin breathed a sigh of relief and joked, "Tell George Strait to move over, there's a new 'Fireman' in town.""

Somehow I can't see Usher piloting a bulldozer behind rural volunteer firefighters. I'm sensing that Fergie's not neccessarily going to run out and get her Manolo's blackened trying to put out fires. This is true neighbor helping neighbor. It's really part of the fabric of the country music culture.

As for Tippin, he's been busy promoting his upcoming album, called In Overdrive. The CD full of trucking songs and it will be released soon according to his website.
