Lorrie Morgan To Release Letting Go... Slow In February 2016
Artist: Lorrie Morgan
Album: Letting Go... Slow
Label: Shanachie Entertainment
Release date: Feb. 12, 2016
A multiple Female Vocalist Of The Year Award-Winner, Lorrie Morgan's stretch of dominance as a female singer country music in the 1990's was rivaled by perhaps only Reba McEntire. She was the Carrie Underwood of her day. To illustrate this point, she is the first female country star in history to have ever garnered three consecutive albums certified Platinum. In 2016, the country music songstress is back with her first solo album in five years. Morgan will release Letting Go… Slow on February 12, 2016 on Shanachie Entertainment.
Produced by Richard Landis, (whose credits include some of Morgan’s top hits, Vince Gill, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), the album seemingly takes on some of Morgan’s most challenging life experiences through song in soulful ballads like “What I’d Say,” “Slow,” and a cover of Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers’ “I’ve Done Enough Dying Today.” She also does a cover of Bob Dylan’s classic, “Lay Lady Lay.”
Letting Go… Slow Track Listing:

2. Ode To Billy Joe (Bobbie Gentry)

Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan To Team Up For Dos Divas Album This Summer
Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan are currently delighting old and new fans across North America on their successful Grits and Glamour Tour. From the road to the red carpet, on center stage in the theater or under the spotlight in a honkytonk, these two women are comfortable in their high heels. Veteran recording artists and performers, they grace the country format with style, flair, and undeniable talent that is captivating and timeless.
“Although we've practically grown up together, running in the same circles and backstage at the Opry as children, it truly is a newfound friendship,” said Pam Tillis.
“We've known one another for years but over the last few years we've grown from 'someone you know' to having a real 'got your back' kind of friendship,” agreed Lorrie Morgan.
Their career highlights are numerous and varied. Combined, they have recorded 28 top 10 hits, more than 18 million records sold, and 12 number one songs. There have been Grammys, CMA Awards, movie credits, television appearances, and Broadway performances. They have rocked arenas, helmed world-class symphonies, and toured on almost every continent. These 50-somethings are more than a little flattered that they can still sell out shows, turn heads, and make hearts beat fast nearly four decades into their careers. It’s almost unnecessary to point out how rare it is to have such long-term success in an industry so fickle, but Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan haven't missed a beat. In fact, they both maintain extensive solo touring schedules, enhanced by the buzz that surrounds the Grits and Glamour tour.
“We've been called divas a time or two,” laughs Lorrie. “Now, I'm sure they meant it in the best sense of the word,” Pam responds. “As far as being 'divas', we share the title and the responsibility!” Striking a more serious note, they both recognize the importance of compromise in this unique and special relationship. They respect one another’s artistry, they respect each other as women, and they respect the fact that they’re carrying on the legacies of their fathers, late Opry star George Morgan and living legend Mel Tillis.
Formed in 2009, the Grits and Glamour tour is a “together is better” event. The show is only loosely scripted. Good-natured ribbing and off-the-cuff remarks are just part of the fun. They add tight harmonies to each other’s material, classic songs like Tillis' “Maybe It Was Memphis,” and “Mi Vida Loca,” and Morgan’s “Something In Red” and “Except for Monday” as well as new and original music from more recent recordings. The ladies are backed by some of Nashville’s finest musicians and singers. After years of working solo, both artists find teaming up fresh and interesting.
When not touring you are apt to find Pam in her organic vegetable garden and Lorrie tending her roses and overseeing her small menagerie of "critters". They're as earthy as they are glamorous. Recently they got together to do some cooking and found they had chosen chicken and dumplins, green beans, and cobbler for their combined menu. True country girls at heart...
Lorrie and Pam both admit they've benefitted from the world's recent fascination with Nashville. Magazines have dubbed their hometown “Nowville” and they're not letting this frenzy pass them by. Pam can be seen in the new hit television series “Nashville,” and Lorrie recently headlined Gaylord Opryland Hotel's Christmas show, performing for tens of thousands of people over six weeks. Their most recent solo recordings have been both critically acclaimed and enthusiastically received by fans. In an effort to promote that new music, Pam and Lorrie are avid tweeters, share videos on their YouTube channel, and post candid photos and road musings on their Facebook fan pages.
In a logical progression of their successful touring relationship, Pam and Lorrie have teamed up to record Dos Divas, scheduled for a mid-summer 2013 release. The project features solo performances by Morgan and Tillis as well as fun collaborations and poignant duets. Highlights include original material written by Lorrie and Pam as well as songs penned by some of country music's most talented songwriters. With titles such as “That’s So Cool,” “Bless Their Hearts,” “I Am a Woman,” “I Know What You Did Last Night,” and “What Was I Thinkin’” (a Tillis/Morgan co-write), the 14-song collection is as diverse as the many moods of both women. "It shows their remarkable range, showcasing everything from traditional country to cutting edge contemporary," quotes the press release.

Lots of New Country Albums to Look Forward to This Fall and Beyond
Over the last couple of weeks, many prominent artists have
announced new projects that will be coming down the road. Here are just a few.
Any favorites that you’re looking forward to the most?
Jake Owen – Endless Summer EP- (9/25)- “It’s been almost a year since our album, Barefoot
Blue Jean Night, came out,” says Jake. “And, I started thinking that I
really wanted to put out a few new tunes that had a summer vibe. So, we decided
to cut four songs and put out an EP entitled Endless Summer. No one ever
really wants the summer to end, right? Hopefully, these songs will be ones that
keep the party going into the fall and people will crank them up loud when they
are out on the water enjoying their own Endless Summer.”
Johnny Cash – Johnny Cash: the Complete Columbia Album Collection- (10/30)- 63 CD’s. That’s what this massive
box set includes. Thirty-five of those 60 are getting their first CD release
ever, while two of the discs—Johnny Cash with His Hot & Blue Guitar and The
Singles—are exclusive to the collection. Several rare discs are included, such
as Johnny Cash pa Osteraker, recorded at Osteraker Prison in Sweden in
1972, Strawberry Cake, recorded at the London Palladium in 1975, and Koncert
V Praze, recorded at the Sport Hall in Prague in 1978.The focal point of
the set is Cash's first 19 albums (1958 - 1967), released for the first time in
mono sound on CD. Each album is packaged as a mini-LP CD with its original
artwork.
Josh Turner – Cracker Barrel
Presents Josh Turner: Live Across America - (Available now)- In addition to being able
to enjoy real home-style food and enjoy some shopping, Cracker Barrel Old
Country Store guests can also take home a copy of Josh Turner’s latest album
release. The 12-track album features live performances of Turner’s biggest
hits, as well as his never-before-released version of Waylon Jennings’ “America .” The
album is available in all Cracker Barrel locations as well as online at
crackerbarrel.com.
Terri Clark- Untitled Classic Covers Album- (November)
While she’s done many covers in her live shows over the years, this will be the
first time that Clark has tackled an entire
album of covers. Check out this track listing: It Wasn't God Who Made Honky
Tonk Angels- Kitty Wells, Leavin On Your Mind- Patsy Cline, Love Is A Rose- Linda
Ronstadt, Gentle On My Mind- Glen Campbell, Swingin Doors- Merle Haggard, Two More
Bottles Of Wine- Emmylou Harris, Delta Dawn- Tanya Tucker, Golden Ring- George And
Tammy, Don't Come Home A Drinkin- Loretta Lynn, How Blue- Reba, Movin On - Hank
Snow.
Jason Aldean – Night Train- (10/16)- "I feel
really great about the songs we recorded for this album," says Aldean.
"There are some surprises on there that might raise a few eyebrows, and
there's also some more traditional stuff too. I don't like being put in a box,
and I think with every record, we've had a lot of variety…'Night Train' is no
different. I got to do a cool up-tempo song with Luke (Bryan ) and Eric (Church), who've both been
out with me over the last two years. I love collaborations like that, and I
think the fans dig it when artists get together…it keeps it interesting."
Toby Keith – Hope On The Rocks- (11/13)- The first single from the Clinton native’s follow-up
album is already making itself heard on the country charts in “I Like Girls
That Drink Beer.” Co-written by Keith and his frequent collaborator Bobby
Pinson, the single is one of the upcoming album’s 10 cuts, along with the title
track. The deluxe edition of “Hope on the Rocks,” his 16th studio album, will
have 14 cuts, according to a news release.
Lorrie Morgan and Pam Tillis – Grits and Glamour- (Undetermined)-
Says, Morgan, “I am currently working on a new album with Pam Tills, set to be
released (soon). Together, we are
co-writing songs for the project and selecting material from some of Nashville 's hit
songwriters. The album is in support of
our current tour, Grits & Glamour.”
CW McCall – Wolf
Creek Pass
(reissue)- (Available now)- Rightly famed for his 1976 global mega-hit
Convoy, C.W. McCall is an enigma in wraparound shades. At the crossroads of
trucker anthems, high-octane hillbilly-homage and (perhaps incongruously)
haunting environmental odes towers the strange figure of McCall. Reissued for
the very first time is his 1975 debut LP Wolf Creek Pass is a highway fueled
songs. Also included is the bulk of his second LP Black Bear Road- in includes 26
remastered tracks in all.
Lynyrd Skynyrd – Last of a Dying Breed- (Available
now)- Last Of A Dying Breed reunites the band with producer Bob Marlette
who produced the last Skynyrd album, God & Guns. “It was great to
get back in the studio with Bob for this new album,” said Gary Rossington “We
kind of went back old school this time. All of us playing together in the
studio as a band, tracking songs and creating licks. We had a lot of fun and
the music really flowed for us, so that’s when you know you are on to something
good. We can’t wait to let the fans hear these songs and play ‘em live.”
Mark Chesnutt – Your Room- (Available now)- A combo CD and DVD, this project
was filmed at an intimate show in Los Angeles, during which Mark and his band
performed 15 of his most beloved hits including "Too Cold at Home,"
"Going Through the Big D" and "It's a Little Too Late." AIX
Records filmed the performance using 3D cameras and HD-audio recording
techniques so that fans will get the feel of the country star performing right
there in their living rooms.
Matraca Berg – Love’s Truck Stop (10/22)- From the press release: Getting the
introspective songstress to come forward is not always easy. When one bares
their emotions, offers pain and falter without flinching, there is a natural
gap that most be braved – and Berg would rather write the truth than throw
herself out for the mass to consume. But when you love the people you write
about, know the songs from the inside out the way the CMA Song of the Year
winner does, there comes a point where being a good steward takes precedence.
The Steeldrivers – Hammer Down- (2/5)- This will be
the band's first album to include new members Gary Nichols on lead vocals and
guitar and Brent Truitt on mandolin. "I think it is important for us as a
band to continue the journey creatively with new people, new information and a
new batch of songs," says fiddle player Tammy Rogers. "The second
album was bluesier with the addition of the National (slide) guitar and turning
Chris loose to belt a little bit. But, I think this new album has a little bit
more emphasis on the picking, for lack of a better word. It's really
interesting. I'm really happy with the direction we're taking. Obviously Brent
is a mandolin master so he is bringing a lot to the table. And Gary is playing some leads that are very
cool. On the other records, it was more me and Richard doing all of the fills
and the instrumental stuff. But now, this feels like there is a lot of depth to
all four instruments, so we're excited about that."
Dwight Yoakam - 3 Pears- (9/18)- The 12-track release, his 26th, is produced by Yoakam, along with two songs co-produced with Beck: "A Heart Like Mine" and "Missing Heart". From the press release: 3 Pears exemplifies Yoakam's ability to incorporate multiple, competing influences into a piece of cohesive art. It balances his country core with a fiercely independent embrace of rock, Americana, pop and soul and builds on his trademark edginess with a notable, growing positivity. 3 Pears contains heartfelt love songs, which showcase Yoakam s authentic country vocals while maintaining his unmistakable classic sound.
Taylor Swift - Red- (10/22)- The young lady intent on complete world domination... okay, not COMPLETE world domination... has a brand new album coming out towards the end of October. The lead single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" is her fastest selling single to date and went Gold in 20 minutes after its release. 20 minutes.
Jamey Johnson - Living For A Song: Tribute To Hank Cochran- (10/16)- When word got out that acclaimed Nashville artist Jamey Johnson was recording a tribute album to beloved songwriter Hank Cochran, musical superstars clamored to participate. "When we were talking about who to call, people just kind of presented themselves," Johnson says. "I think the word got out after awhile, and we were getting phone calls from people wanting to do it. There weren't a whole lot of arms that needed twisting." The resulting cast includes the ranks of the Country Music Hall of Fame came George Strait, Emmylou Harris, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Ray Price and Vince Gill, not to mention Cochran's oldest and truest friend, Willie Nelson. Veteran stars Leon Russell, Elvis Costello, Bobby Bare and Asleep at the Wheel perform on the album alongside contemporary artists such as Alison Krauss, Lee Ann Womack and Ronnie Dunn.
Billy Ray Cyrus - Change My Mind- (10/23) From the press release: From start to finish, this album brings Cyrus full circle with a candid autobiographical snapshot of his life. Cyrus hails from Flatwoods, KY, located right off US23 better known as the Country Music Highway. With Change My Mind Cyrus returns to his country music roots and delivers a 10-song collection that showcases his bluegrass meets rock n' roll sensibility, songwriting prowess and captivating vocals. Produced by multi-award winning producer Brandon Friesen, the album features "Hillbilly Heart," a driving, unapologetic song about Cyrus' country roots, "That's What Daddy's Do," a tender ballad about the admiration of family and fatherhood, "Good As Gone" which sees Cyrus channeling his rock influences Pink Floyd, The Doors, Led Zeppelin and Willie Nelson. There is also a re-make of Cyrus' fan-favorite "I'm So Miserable," given a unique up-tempo twist that will leave fans far from miserable.
Wanda Jackson - Unfinished Business- (10/9)- The new album from legendary singer and “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” inductee Wanda Jackson, will be a Sugar Hill Records release. This is Jackson’s 31st studio album and marks the producing debut of fellow renowned musician and songwriter Justin Townes Earle. Of working with Earle, Jackson comments, “From day one I really liked Justin’s idea to take me back to my roots and make a record of country, blues, and rockabilly songs. The band was extra tight and great to work with during the whole process. The record just sounds terrific."
Billy Dean - Man of Good Fortune- (9/25)- Says, Dean, “We are releasing a new album of ten new songs. This record sounds young, but the lyrics are for grown-ups.” It will mark the first independent release since his 2010 album, The One Behind The Wheel.
Big & Rich - Hillbilly Jedi- (9/18) Big Kenny Alphin said that the album's title "came out in a writing session we were doing with Richie Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi. They are going to record the song on our new album and a line in the song was "hillbilly jedis with attitude." All of a sudden, Bon Jovi stops and says, "Hillbilly Jedis? That’s it. I’d buy that shirt." We were like, "Hey, that’s about a descriptive as you can get of what we are.""
Kix Brooks- New To This Town- (9/11)- The 12-song collection, with 9 co-written by Kix, was produced by Kix with Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts co-producing the title track. "I made an album that really is close to my heart, and it's a whole lot of fun," shares Kix. "For the most part, the music's just...it's kind of fun and games and hangin' it out there and thinkin' about gettin' back in a lot of those clubs and festivals and gettin' to play again. It's like, you know, people come to enjoy themselves, and I think this album in a lot of ways is about that."
Bucky Covington- Good Guys- (9/11)- The American Idol alum has already released two singles off of the new album, "I Wanna Be That Feeling" and a hot shot duet with Shooter Jennings called "The Drinkin' Side of Country." Through his work with Help The Good Guys, Bucky will also donate proceeds from the first week sales of his new record to the International Association of Fire Fighters Charitable Fund, benefitting our brave neighborhood heroes who keep our communities safe each and every day.
Chely Wright- Woman In The Moon (Reissue- Available Now)- Chely's 1994 debut album Woman in the Moon has been re-released at available for the for time ever on digital. This is the first time the album has been available in almost 10 years. It was previously out of print.

Lorrie Morgan Set To Release Classics Collection
Lorrie Morgan is set to release A Moment On Time on October 27. This collection of evergreen classics includes “If You’ve Got Leavin’ On Your Mind,” a personal favorite of Lorrie’s that she calls “the ultimate Country ballad.”With more than 30 charted Billboard singles, 14 top ten hits and 7 of her 12 albums having gone gold and platinum, country’s Lorrie Morgan could easily rest on her laurels. Not Lorrie. Always an overachiever, the sultry singer gives it her all on this album.

Lorrie Morgan Readies Release Of New Album- I Walk Alone
Lorrie Morgan’s latest offering, I Walk Alone, is a labor of love that has been a lifetime in the making. The thirteen songs she co-wrote and co-produced for I Walk Alone find Lorrie in a particularly introspective and vulnerable place in her life. Cuts including “Mirror, Mirror,” “Woman Thing,” and the title cut offer Lorrie’s fans a rare look into the life of the woman whose life has quite literally been lived out on stage. Always an over-achiever, Lorrie has also completed an album of “evergreen” classics, complete with an all-star cast of musicians and guests. Recorded entirely live in the studio with producer Wally Wilson at the controls, "A Moment In Time" captures the essence of Lorrie’s sultry, flawless vocals as she delivers timeless classics including “Are You Lonesome Tonight,” “By the Time I Get to Phoenix,” “After the Fire is Gone” (duet with Tracy Lawrence, and “Easy Lovin’” (duet with Raul Malo). Larry King once asked Lorrie about her turbulent lifestyle and she told him “drama is something that lets you know you’re alive.” Although she’s had her share of drama in both music and her personal life, Lorrie has taken it all in stride. Lorrie Morgan’s trophy room is adorned with reminders of milestones that include fourteen top-ten hits, twelve albums, seven of which have gone gold and platinum, and four Female Vocalist of the Year awards.Lorrie Morgan will autograph copies of her new CD, I Walk Alone, at the new Opry Originals in Nashville store at 9:00 p.m. immediately following the Opry Classics show tonight.

Lorrie Morgan, Vince Gill, Tracy Lawrence & Joe Diffie To Do Benefit Concert 2/5
Lorrie Morgan and friends Vince Gill, Tracy Lawrence, and Joe Diffie will gather to perform at the Life Through Music Concert organized for the benefit of renowned musician and Nashville resident, Chris Kent, who is fighting a life battle with Multiple Myeloma (MM). The benefit concert will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the Mercy Lounge Cannery Ballroom in Nashville; proceeds from the concert and corresponding silent auction will be dedicated to assist Chris with his medical and family living expenses.Chris Kent is a Grammy award-winning bassist who has performed alongside Lorrie Morgan, Steve Lukather, Larry Carlton, Kirk Whalum and numerous others. He has also shared the stage with the legendary Stevie Wonder. Chris has made television appearances on the "Tonight Show," "Live From the House of Blues" and "Jazz Central" (BET). Anywhere there is music, you will find Chris.
With the loving support and strength from family and friends, Chris has been fighting MM, a plasma cell cancer, since fall of 1998. Plasma cells produce antibodies, which are vital to fighting infections and bone marrow is the supply point for early blood stem cells. When one develops a blood disease, the most common form of treatment is a bone marrow transplant. The difficulty is, however, finding a bone marrow match. According to www.marrow.org, "Because tissue types are inherited, patients are more likely to match someone from their own race or ethnicity." While there is no cure for MM, there are several treatments and for nearly a decade, the treatments have exhausted Chris' livelihood.
Over his lifetime, Chris has been instrumental in a number of artists' careers and their successes and, in his honor as a leader in musical composition and a loving friend in the community, fellow musicians and recording artists Lorrie Morgan, Vince Gill, Tracy Lawrence, and Joe Diffie are donating their time and talents. Jesse Whitley (son of Lorrie Morgan and Keith Whitley) will also appear in a special guest performance.
Lorrie Morgan is a four-time Female Vocalist of the Year and a Grand Ole Opry member. With 14 Top-10 hits and seven gold and platinum albums, Lorrie has secured her place as an icon in country music history. At the age of 13, Morgan made her Opry debut with her father, country legend George Morgan, and today she is regarded as a pioneer who paved the way for all female country artists who have followed. A longtime friend and performing mate of Chris, Lorrie has initiated multiple benefit concerts to assist Chris and his family. "Simply said, I LOVE this man," Morgan announced. "We are all doing this because of our adoration for Chris and I am humbled and embraced by my friends in music who share the same sentiment, so much so, that they are willing join us in this effort. Music is a heart and soul healer."
History-maker Vince Gill has 19 Grammy Awards, holding the record for a male country music artist, 18 CMA Awards (second to Brooks & Dunn for CMA Award accumulation) and was the host of the CMA Awards for 13 consecutive years (1992-2003), raising the standards for hosts on other award programs. He's sold more than 26 million albums and in 2007 was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. With over 40 singles charted on Billboard a few hits include: "My Pretty Little Adrianna," "You and You Alone," "Take Your Memory With You," "One More Last Chance" and "Let Me Love You Tonight."
Tracy Lawrence's music career spans over 16 years, proving him to be a formidable stylist in the country music format. Lawrence has celebrated successes with gold and platinum sales and now 17 No. 1 singles to his name including "Alibis," "If The World Had A Front Porch," "Time Marches On," "Sticks And Stones," "Paint Me A Birmingham" and his most recent No. 1, "Find Out Who Your Friends Are."
Joe Diffie is a Grammy award-winning (1998-"Same Old Train"), gold and platinum-selling country music artist who has scored 12 No. 1 hits and over 20 Top-10's. An accredited songwriter, Diffie wrote Tim McGraw's "Memory Lane," Jo Dee Messina's "My Give A Damn's Busted," and "I Got A Feeling" recorded by Tracy Lawrence to name a few.
To generate awareness surrounding the new MM screening procedure, a certified nurse representing the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), will be on site the evening of the concert to offer donor information and conduct swab tests. The first step in the donor process is DNA testing, via a mouth swab or blood sample. Interested attendees are invited to participate in this life saving screening. (The NMDP will post the results in their database and contact the donor to initiate further testing if identified as a possible match).
Items are being accepted for the silent auction. Those interested in making a monetary donation or donating items for the silent auction should contact Joshua Motohashi via e-mail at:

CD Review- We Are Enterprise
Country stars such as Clint Black, John Anderson, George Jones and Lorrie Morgan have contributed their talents to "We Are Enterprise" ($13.98, Country Crossing Records). It's a compilation CD, set for release today, that aims to raise money for the rebuilding of Enterprise High School. The school was severely damaged by a 2007 tornado that ripped off parts of the roof and destroyed the gym and football stadium.
Enterprise resident Ronnie Gilley, a real-estate developer and concert promoter, teamed with producer James Stroud to gather 11 songs for the CD, both originals and covers.
Tracks include "Someday" by Clink Black- a typical country inspirational ballad sung with typical Black feeling, "When I Get Down" by John Anderson- another great ballad from the man who brought us "Swingin" and "Dear Lord," a heartfelt honkytonk prayer by Tracy Lawrence. The album is worth the price alone with the near acapella acoustic "Amazing Grace" by George Jones. Shelly Fairchild's "It's All Going To Work Out" is a funky country message song and "You Are So Beautiful" by Lorrie Morgan is a beatufully sung rendition. Aaron Tippin can be heard on "Mighty Good God"; Darryl Worley offers "Katie's Song"; Joe Diffie covers "You've Got a Friend." Overall, nearly every song relays a message of hope and that everything for the good people of Enterprise, Alabama will be alright.
All aritsts and record label net proceeds from the album will be donated to the fund to rebuild Enterprise High School.

Country Music Comes To The Rescue Of A Community
On Thursday, March 1, 2007, the small town of Enterprise, AL (population just over 23,000) was struck by a massive EF4 tornado, leaving a swath of devastation in its wake. In the heart of the storm's path was Enterprise High School. The tornado ripped the roof from parts of the school, destroyed a hallway, the gymnasium and the football stadium. Eight students lost their lives in the devastation. In total, the storm was responsible for nine deaths and more than 120 injuries. With damages estimated at $307 million, the entire community was left paralyzed. Since then, the students of Enterprise High School have been attending classes in trailers and temporary outlets. The high school is due to be rebuilt by the 2010-11 school year at a cost of over $80 million.Country Crossing Records has announced plans to release WE ARE ENTERPRISE: The Album To Help Rebuild Enterprise High School, a collection of moving and inspirational songs recorded by some of the most renowned names in country music to embrace the community of Enterprise, Alabama and assist in rebuilding the Enterprise High School. Spearheading the WE ARE ENTERPRISE project is Enterprise resident Ronnie Gilley (Ronnie Gilley Properties/Ronnie Gilley Entertainment/BamaJam Music & Arts Festival), who partnered with music industry legend James Stroud (producer for Tim McGraw, Toby Keith and Clint Black/Former president of Dreamworks Records-Nashville and co-chairman of Universal Music Group Nashville/President of Ronnie Gilley Entertainment and Stroudavarious Records). The pair, who executive produced the project, assembled an incredible cast of country music giants to create an extraordinary album to assist with the overwhelming cost of the construction of the new Enterprise High School.
"When Ronnie made me aware of the suffering his community had endured and the ongoing hardships facing its high school students and faculty, I wanted to help any way that I could," said Stroud. "We had the idea to craft an album that would not only help with the cost of rebuilding the school, but that would also uplift the community with its message. Once we started calling our artist friends and hearing their desire to lend their time and talent, we knew the idea would work."
WE ARE ENTERPRISE is stacked with songs contributed by award-winning, multi-platinum-selling, country music superstars Deborah Allen, John Anderson, Clint Black, Joe Diffie, Shelly Fairchild, George Jones, Tracy Lawrence, Richie McDonald, Lorrie Morgan, Aaron Tippin and Darryl Worley. The 11-song line-up features a number of new songs crafted exclusively for this project (Worley's "Katie's Song," "This Is The Time," by Deborah Allen and Shelly Fairchild's "It's All Gonna Work Out") plus some new takes on timeless classics ("You've Got A Friend" by Diffie, Morgan's "You Are So Beautiful" and "Amazing Grace" by Jones).
The album is slated for a December 16, 2008 release and will be available in retail outlets as well all major digital outlets (iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and WalMart.com). To commemorate the release within the Enterprise community, several of the artists will travel to Enterprise on street date to make two in-store appearances tentatively scheduled to take place at Wal*Mart locations in Enterprise and Dothan. (Information on participating artists and confirmed retail locations and times will be announced shortly.)
All record company and artist net proceeds from sales of the WE ARE ENTERPRISE will be donated to the fund for the rebuilding of the high school.
