The Henningsens Decide To End Things As A Trio

After nearly a decade together, the country music trio consisting of Brian Henningsen, his son Aaron, and daughter Clara- known as The Henningsens- have decided to do one last show and step away to do solo projects and work. This follows a stint on Arista Records and separate EP and album releases.

In 2008 at church, Aaron met Wynonna Judd's husband and Highway 101 member Cactus Moser, who in turn shared The Henningsens' demo recordings with producer Paul Worley. The Henningsens co-wrote The Band Perry's singles "You Lie" and "All Your Life", as well as several album tracks for The Band Perry. Their collaborative efforts would later yield several album cuts on Pioneer, including the title track, "Night Gone Wasted", "I Saw a Light", "I'm a Keeper", "Back to Me Without You", and "End of Time". Other songs that The Henningsens wrote include "Love It Out Loud" for Wynonna Judd, "Alone" for Sara Evans, and "Six Gold Coins" by Highway 101. They then signed to Arista Nashville and began working with Worley on their debut album.

On December 17, 2012, the trio released their debut single (and album title track) "American Beautiful". A self-titled EP was released on May 28, 2013. They released an independent album called World on Fire in summer of 2016.

The group plans one last show on 9/30, and had this to say on their Facebook page:
To all of our beloved and devoted fans, especially those of you in Central Illinois, we will be playing our final show (for now anyways!) on September 30th at Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL for the Laker Homecoming!!!
It's bittersweet for us to announce a final show, but we'd love to see you 9/30 nonetheless! When life gives you music, you make it play it while you can. We always plan to collaborate as a family- especially in writing songs! The time has come for us to journey down our owns paths though. We have truly enjoyed the the past 8+ years playing shows around the country and getting to know y'all. We appreciate the support we've received throughout the years! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and we hope to see you at our show at Lake Land College on September 30th!!!

The Henningsens Debut Album World's On Fire To Hit June 1

Artist: The Henningsens
Album: World's On Fire
Release date: June 1, 2016

Made up of a father, son/daughter trio, Brian, Aaron and Clara, the Henningsens have written their fair share of hit songs. Now with their debut album coming out, they hope to have some radio cuts of their own like their own The Band Perry hits “All Your Life” and “You Lie.”

Despite parting ways with their label last year, The Henningsens announced earlier this month that they would be putting out a new album called World’s On Fire out June 1, 2016.

“We’re all the way from very country to bluegrass to something you can’t quite put your finger on,” Brian says of the band’s music, rooted in very melodic, harmony-driven sounds and crossing generations of musical influences. While Brian cites such acts as Pure Prairie League, The Marshall Tucker Band, and The Eagles, Aaron notes influences like Johnny Cash, James Taylor, and Brad Paisley, and Clara is quick to mention Dixie Chicks, Alison Krauss, and Nickel Creek. “We try to be very lyrically descriptive,” Brian says. “We always say it when we write: we’re trying to make a little movie play in your mind.”

This album features 13 songs, including "Like a Girl," "Sugar Rush," "Jesus or a Bullet" and the title track.

The Henningsens To Release Our Family Christmas On 11/17

The Henningsens announced that they will release their first holiday album, Our Family Christmas, on Nov. 17. The trio, made up of siblings Clara and Aaron Henningsen, along with their father, Brian, have developed a collection of eight Christmas favorites, like “White Christmas,” “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” and more. The family worked with brothers Preston and Spencer Dalton to record the project. Additionally, the 10-track album includes two Henningsen originals, “Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, Baby Jesus” and “Christmas Kissin’,” which features guest vocals by Jerrod Niemann.

“We really wanted to make it very traditional in the songs and the melodies, but a lot of our arrangements are new, modern, cool arrangements,” said Brian Henningsen.

The Henningsens previously scored on the country charts with their debut single “American Beautiful” and released their self-titled EP in 2013.

The Henningsens Get A Record Deal With Sony

In news that might be a bit off the mainstream country music radar, a small family trio of incredible vocalists, musicians and songwriters named The Henningsens were signed to a recording contract this week by Sony Records.

That Nashville Sound featured this fantastically talented group in its Up & Coming New Nashville feature back in April.  This farm family from Illinois is Brian (dad), Aaron (eldest son) and Clara (daughter). The group is working on its debut album with Paul Worley and will be assigned a label imprint soon. The trio is also the songwriting team behind The Band Perry’s hit single “You Lie.” The band also ]co-wrote The Band Perry's "Independence," "Miss You Being Gone," and "Lasso" and has cuts by Wynonna Judd and Sara Evans.

You can hear a couple performances below:
