New Lost Jeff Healey Band Album To See Release In Late March 2016

Artist: Jeff Healey Band
Album: Heal My Soul
Label: Healey Estate/PledgeMusic
Release date: Mar. 25, 2016

Jeff Healey is remembered as one of the most unique and outstanding guitarists and performers of the past 30 years. He lost his sight during early childhood due to retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer. Playing guitar since the age of three, he developed the distinctive lap-style guitar technique that helped bring him international attention by his late teens. A Grammy nominee and JUNO Award winner, his five releases with The Jeff Healey Band totaled millions of sales worldwide. Over the course of his career, he also shared stages and earned the admiration of countless other musicians including B.B. King, Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, George Harrison, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and the Allman Brothers Band. Healey died on March 2, 2008 at age 41 after a three-year battle with sarcoma cancer.

This week the Jeff Healey Estate announces the worldwide offering of a previously unheard album Heal My Soul via PledgeMusic. The March 25th release is the first new, original Jeff Healey material in over 15 years. As the press release announces, "This incredible lost album features some of the most powerful and passionate performances Healey ever committed to record."

Launching this campaign is the Heal My Soul – “100 Watt Stack Edition” box set via PledgeMusic. This limited edition set contains an impressive array of offers for fans. From exclusive and limited CD & vinyl music content to custom made Healey apparel, the commemorative box set and its components have been compiled with the participation and full approval of the Jeff Healey Estate to coincide with what would have been Healey’s 50th birthday on March 25th, 2016.

“In sharing this significant release, The Jeff Healey Estate is making a statement to the world,” says Cristie Healey, Executor/Co-Administrator of the Jeff Healey Estate. “Remarkable, musical treasures that Jeff left behind will be made available for us to experience for years to come. The unearthing of this lost album is a project that will highlight Jeff’s incredible talent. With this gift of never before released amazing music, we invite Jeff’s fans to join us in celebration of his 50th birthday.”

Roger Costa, Archivist/Co-Administrator of the Jeff Healey Estate adds, “Coordinating the production of Heal My Soul has been an absolute labor of love for all involved and we are thrilled to be able to finally share this with the world.”

Posthumous Album Live From NYC Arrives From Jeff Healey

Nearly six years after his tragic death at the young age of 41, new music from the legendary lap guitarist Jeff Healey is seeing the light of day with a new live album called Live From NYC.

Live From NYC continues Eagle’s series of gems drawn from the vaults of the Jeff Healey Band. Recorded at The Bottom Line in New York City on December 13, 1988, this early show by the band, follows the release of their debut album See The Light (Arista Records). Several tracks from that album, are included along with classic covers such as ZZ Top’s “Blue Jean Blues” and Cream’s “White Room.”

Jeff Healey had a unique style and presence that was clearly already well developed at this early stage in his career, which Live From NYC captures beautifully. Having lost his sight at the age of one, he crafted himself into a master guitarist, championing the lap pedal-steel style. Able to deftly traverse genre styles with ease, his soulful vocals and instrumental dexterity won the hearts of blues and blues-rock fans worldwide. An incredible talent gone too soon (he passed away in 2008), Jeff Healey created music that still thrills and inspires fans to this day.

Eagle Rock Entertainment has also re-issued the Jeff Healey Band’s Get Me Some and House On Fire, and released Live At Grossman’s 1994 CD and Full Circle – The Live Anthology boxed set.

Live From NYC Track Listing:

1. The Better It Gets
2. Further On Up The Road
3. My Little Girl
4. Blue Jean Blues
5. Confidence Man
6. I Need To Be Loved
7. White Room
8. See The Light
9. Good Morning Blues

Remembering A Legend Of The Guitar- Jeff Healey

Here at That Nashville Sound, we stretch the boundaries of country music here and there. I came across a menancholy birthday note today that of the amazing blind guitarist Jeff Healey (born March 25, 1966) of the Jeff Healey Band. The world lost Jeff to cancer last year. I had the priviledge of seeing Jeff perform in concert and there was few music sights as cool as watching him play his guitar on his lap and ripping it up with the likes of BB King and Eric Clapton. To celebrate the birth of this musician, watch the single that made him a star, Angel Eyes, HERE...
