Happy Birthday To Merle Haggard- He's An Even Par 72 Today

That Nashville Sound wishes Merle Haggard a very happy 72nd birthday today. Haggard and his band helped create the Bakersfield Sound featuring Telecaster guitars, vocal harmonies, and a rough edge not heard on the more polished Nashville studio recordings of the same era. By the 1970s, Haggard was aligned with the growing outlaw movement, and has continued to release successful albums through the 1990s and into today. He has an amazing list of 38 #1 songs.
