That Nashville Sound would like to send all our loyal readers out there wishes for a fun and safe weekend- and would like to share some new music videos and new music out there on the horizon.

- GRAMMY Award winner Patty Griffin has announced the release of her long-awaited new album. The acclaimed singer-songwriter's 10th studio recording and first-ever eponymous LP, Patty Griffin arrives Friday, March 8 on her own PGM Recordings label via Thirty Tigers. The album was recorded predominantly at Griffin's home in Austin, TX, with Griffin and longtime collaborator Craig Ross co-producing, while the band is made up of a number of friends and frequent accompanists, including Ross, guitarist David Pulkingham, drummer and percussionist Conrad Choucroun, cellist Lindsey Verrill, pianist Stephen Barber, and Robert Plant, who contributes backing vocals to the tracks "What Now" and "Coins."

- Cassadee Pope is set to release her new album, "Stages," on Friday, February 1st. The album, produced by Corey Crowder, is a representation of Pope's journey throughout the past year, from heartbreak to empowerment. Fans can pre-order the project here.  “It’s a validating feeling to look back at a painful moment, and see how I was able to put the pieces back together and come back stronger,” Pope said. “For the first time in my life, I’m confident in the way I navigate things thrown my way, and I hope someone listening finds the same strength.”

- Jon Pardi played his new single "Night Shift" live on the Opry stage and they caught it on film.

- Ben Rector debuted a funky new music video for his song "Duo."

- Cody Johnson released a new music video shot live in a concert for his new single, "On My Way To You."

New Music Video From The Song Suffragettes' Emma White - "Ten Year Town"

If you frequent this blog/website even somewhat infrequently, you've probably seen us feature the Song Suffragettes. It's a group of female-only singer-songwriters that do a showcase every Monday night at the Listening Room at 6pm in Nashville. Their talent is undeniable. But every so often, a performance video is posted to their YouTube channel that absolutely stops me in my tracks. This week was one of those times.

Emma White is an artist with an all-together too-familiar story in Nashville. A Nashville transplant by way of Baltimore, White seemed destined for country music after being named after Emmylou Harris. And this talented singer/songwriter has been chasing her musical muse through Nashville looking for that one major cut or break. This track she performed last week at The Listening Room is one for the ages. Chasing one's musical dreams is a passion that is done for the love of music and for every one artist or songwriter that succeeds, there are dozens others that are equally as talented (or more so) that never make it over the hump. This track "Ten Year Town" is one of those songs that details the trials and tribulations of chasing the dream inside Music City. It's one of our favorite songs of the year and I implore you to take a minute and listen to it. It's powerful stuff.

New Music Video From The Song Suffragettes - "Time's Up"

Song Suffragettes is a collective of female singer-songwriters who perform every Monday night at Nashville’s Listening Room Café. With a mantra of #LetTheGirlsPlay, Song Suffragettes has featured over 200 women in the past 3+ years resulting in multiple publishing and record deals for some of music's brightest new talent.

Kalie Shorr, one of the frequent performers, recently saw the Hollywood elite all wearing black and protesting the treatment of women across the entertainment world and had an idea. “Me and the girls were watching the Golden Globes, drinking wine and wearing all black. During one of the many inspiring speeches that night, I just felt the weight of what was happening — how I was going to tell my daughters and granddaughters about this one day. It came together so easily and flawlessly because the amazing girls of Song Suffragettes were so passionate about the cause and willing to move around their schedules to make it happen. The team behind Song Suffragettes hustled so hard to make this project come to life making our idea a reality. I have been so inspired by this whole reckoning that’s been happening and it just  felt so obvious to connect that to what we do at Song Suffragettes,” Shorr said of the production.

This is their story in song...
