Collin Raye Recuts His 25 Biggest Hits For New Legacy Album

In celebration of his 25th anniversary as a recording artist, multi-platinum selling country singer Collin Raye will release a new legacy album titled, Collin Raye — 25 Years, 25 Hits, on Tuesday, May 15.

The ACM Award-winning artist has recut 25 of his hit songs, including all 16 No. 1s, along with 3 bonus tracks, to celebrate his silver anniversary — 25 hits for 25 years.

"After working on this album for well over a year, our release date is finally drawing close," says Raye. "I'm so proud of this record. For years, people have asked me, 'Why don't you have a collection of all of your hits on one record, instead of several greatest hits albums each with different songs?' Well, now I do — all 25 hits on one album."

 The 10-time "Male Vocalist of the Year" nominee (5 CMA and 5 ACM) recorded the album in Nashville with producer Kelly Schoenfeld.

"It was a challenge to reproduce and beat what we did years ago, but I'm confident we have," he adds. "This is the definitive CR collection, and basically, the story of my career in making music."

Raye will celebrate the release at the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday, May 15, where he will perform in the historic circle and sign albums in-store for fans following the show.

LeAnn Rimes is back with new music- this time a six-song Christmas EP called One Christmas: Chapter 1. It is also the first in a set of three Christmas EPs or albums that will be released over the next couple of years - one in 2015 and the final in 2016.

"I made a Christmas record a long time ago, and this time," Rimes says, "I decided I wanted to spread it out over three years so I didn't have to stop making Christmas music. We had so much fun making this first EP. I tried to play around with it as far as things you don't typically hear me do. A lot of the vocals sound very live, and it's just a really cool piece of music. It's very eclectic. It has a lot of soul, and it sounds really organic."

25 years after the Dukes of Hazzard ended its run as one of America's favorite television shows, the brothers Duke, John Schneider and Tom Wopat, are back together again with a Christmas album called Home for Christmas. The pair, currently starring in a national TV advertising campaign for AutoTrader.com, have performed in concert over the years, but this marks their first full recording together. Mixing immediately recognizable Christmas standards with lesser-known holiday songs, the album combines a bright and brassy big band, lush strings, and rustic country sounds and laces it all together with humorous banter that reflects over three decades of friendship. Home for Christmas is produced by David Finck with arrangements by John Oddo, Tedd Firth and Rob Mounsey.

Home for Christmas is a collection of swinging seasonable treats to get you ready for holiday cheer. "I think this is a fresh take on the Christmas album," says Tom. "Jazz fans and serious musicians will appreciate what we've done with theses tunes. Our arranger John Oddo has a true affinity for that classic 50s and 60s sound. He really nails it. Collin Raye Finishing Up Glen Campbell Tribute Album

Collin Raye has stated many times over his long and successful career that he considers Glen Campbell one of the biggest inspirations and influences. It makes sense then that he made the announcement over Facebook this last week (and the Grand Ole Opry stage) that he is putting the finishing touches on his Glen Campbell tribute album that he hopes to release later this year:

"Almost done with a new project that I sure think a lot of folks will like. As many of ya know, I hold my long-time friend Glen Campbell in very high regard. I'm almost finished recording a tribute album of his songs, but I've just got a couple of little things that need to get done before we can release it."

The album does not have a release date yet and does not have a track listing, but it does have a guest star. This last Saturday, Raye took a picture of he and Ricky Skaggs side-stage at the Grand Ole Opry following both of their performances.

"Saturday night at the Grand Ole Opry I asked Ricky Skaggs to sing a song on the Glen Campbell tribute album I'm working on and he said yes!"

Collin Raye Releases Inspirational Album Through It All, His Love Remains

After five Platinum Albums, fifteen #1 hits and twenty-four top 10's, Collin Raye is switching gears and releasing an album of traditional Christian hyms and ballads today on an album called Through It All, His Love Remains.

Nashville Christian recording artist Marie Bellet said – "Collin Raye has a beautiful voice of pure sincerity that reaches straight to heaven". The album introduces two original new songs by Collin including a remake of his top ten hit "Love Remains" and some of the most loved Christian songs of all time.

Says Collin, "The past two years of my life have been a very trying time for me and my family! I feel that this newest CD is a testament to my faith in God! I hope you enjoy listening to it as much I enjoyed recording it."

The trying time Raye refers to is the long battle that his granddaughter Haley went through with a neurological condition that finally took her life just over a year ago. Collin stepped away from the music business to be with with daughter and granddaughter. "My kids need me. They just need Poppy around," he said at the time.

Collin Raye has also agreed to become the national spokesman for Terri Schiavo’s Life & Hope Network, the foundation Terri’s family established to help disabled people like her obtain lifesaving medical care.

Jim Brickman Reveals Country Side On New Album Home

Best-selling pop and New Age pianist Jim Brickman is showing off is country chops. After previously working with Rebecca Lynn Howard and Collin Raye, Brickman's new album Home reveals his seldom heard country music skills.

Brickman has performed on concert stages the world over, but never on one of the most famous stages of them all, The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. In November, Jim made his debut at the country music landmark with Victoria Shaw singing his hit song "The Gift." He also accompanied network news anchor Robin Meade, who sang "Welcome Home" for U.S. troops returning from deployment overseas.

"Welcome Home" is one of 18 originals from Jim's new album, alongside tunes featuring Australian pop singer Delta Goodrem, Canadian vocalist Mark Masri, country star Ty Herndon, and "American Idol" finalist Matt Giraud.

Jim Brickman first studied classical piano at the Cleveland Institute of Music. The release of his debut album, "No Words," came at the height of the New Age music boom in 1994, marking the first time in seven years that legendary New Age music label Windham Hill Records offered a contract to a solo artist.

Collin Raye Releases "Undefeated" Written With Daughter

Over his career, Collin Raye has charted thirty singles on the U.S. country charts; he has also charted twice on the Adult Contemporary format as a duet partner on two Jim Brickman songs. Four of Raye's singles have reached Number One on the Billboard country music charts: 1992's "Love, Me" and "In This Life", 1994's "My Kind of Girl", and 1998's "I Can Still Feel."

Raye's latest album, Never Going Back, was released in 2009 on the Saguaro Road label. It included the track "She's With Me," which is a tribute to Raye's granddaughter, Haley, who died from a severe but undiagnosed brain disorder earlier this year. He has just released a new single to i-Tunes and has taken to his website this week to announce the new single that hits close to home:

The Background:
Mixing up the laid back rock and folk of mid-seventies Southern California with country and rock n’ roll, Collin Raye has always blended the lines of pop and country. On the 4/28 release Never Going Back, Raye has evoked the spirit of the day when an artist could record an album and perform it just as it sounds in a smoky club or on a stadium stage. “Before this, I’d never done an album where I’ve wanted to immediately go out and perform the whole thing,” explains Raye. Recorded in Alabama’s historic Muscle Shoals, the album feels guided by the ghosts of the country, rock, blues and pop albums that the region cultivated throughout the 70s. “This is the album I’ve always wanted to do,” says Raye, a weighty statement from the man who has four #1 Billboard country singles, 21 Top 10, four platinum albums, three AC hits, several CMA and ACM nominations and years of sold out tours already under his belt. And true to his word, he’ll head out on tour right as Never Going Back is released, ready to play every single track onstage each night.

The Review:
This album is everything you've come to expect from Collin Raye. The big ballads, the 'message' songs, and that tenor voice that make Raye one of the most recognizable artists on country radio. It’s not classic country, although he has never pretended it to be. Even the title of the album speaks of his creative freedom that he’s been granted at his new label (Time Life). The production is very slick- at times almost too synthetic. The instrumentation does feel late 70’s and early 80’s- but not in a classic way. Unfortunately, it makes it feel like something was missing in the studio. The first single released off the album, “Mid Life Chrysler” is neither catchy, humorous, introspective or has any other connectivity to the listener on a personal level. The songs lean toward pop and rock, with the exception of one little gem that truly made the entire album worth listening to… “She’s With Me.” It’s a beautiful and touching ballad that drew me before I even heard the back-story to the song. Once I heard the back-story, it made it one of the highlights of 2009.

“She’s With Me is a tribute to my granddaughter, Hailey, very, very special - and very ill with a neurological condition that no one’s been able to diagnose, and it’s regressive … for six years, I’ve been having this in my heart,” says Raye. “It’s very hard to write about things like this, because nothing is ever good enough for her, and it’s hard to put into words how you feel. The idea of “She’s With Me” struck me about a year or so ago. Thinking in this life she can’t do anything for herself. She comes and goes because she’s with me, and then I related it to the afterlife thinking, well, if I’m lucky enough to ever be standing in front of the Lord or St. Peter … maybe, she’ll be standing there and say, “Well, it’s okay, because he’s with me.” Collin has been a tireless advocate for Hailey and realizes the extraordinary toll that a child’s medical condition and the resulting expenses can place on a family - especially in such a terrible economy. New Collin Raye Album "Never Going Back" Hits Shelves April 7th

That Nashville Sound reported earlier this week that Collin Raye had just completed the recording of a brand new album of music. His new label is with Saquaro Road Records, A Time Life Company. His first single will go to country radio in February and the street date for the new CD "Never Going Back" is April 7th, 2009.
