It was announced that Caitlin & Will have parted ways with Columbia Records Nashville. After winning Can You Duet, they were signed to Columbia Records' Nashville division and started work on recording their debut album. On March 31, 2009, they released a six song digital EP, entitled Caitlin & Will - EP. It featured their debut single "Address in the Stars", which was intended as the lead-off single to a full-length and now not-to-be-released studio record titled Dark Horse.
Also mysteriously missing off of the Columbia Records website is Keith Anderson. Known for hits "Pickin' Wildflowers", "XXL", "Every Time I Hear Your Name", and "I Still Miss You", Anderson's one album on the Columbia label was August 2008's C'mon. He had previously released an album on the Arisa Nashville label.
Man, this really sucks. I LOVE Keith Anderson. I hope he finds a better label home, and soon. Thanks for posting though. I hadn't seen this news anywhere else until the9513.com posted a link to this entry. Surprised that I haven't yet.
ReplyDeleteSee ya Keith. Pick up your ticket to Branson at the desk.
ReplyDeleteWhat a genius you are anonymous? Maybe you had a part in this decision with the rest of the morons!!
ReplyDeleteKeith, you have very LOYAL and devoted fans. You deserve much better than the idiots at Columbia, who failed to promote and stand behind you. Keep on rocking and start your own label.
ReplyDeleteIt's an unfortunate side-effect of major-labels going down.
ReplyDeleteThe Bubbettes still love you Keith and always will.

Any idea what's happening with Caitlin and Will?
ReplyDeleteI think they are fantastic and the record company
is crazy for waiting so long to release their
album....now that won't happen! This sucks
big time!
This appears to be the end of Caitlin and Will. A press release hit the country music media that they will be splitting and pursuing careers on their own.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, he has reputation for liking VERY young girls. My friend's father is promoter and says that's why he was dropped.
ReplyDeleteI am not surprised to read this. I believe all Singer/Songwriters deserve more protection for there talents. Keep on writing Mr. Anderson. Pickin Wildflowers fan
ReplyDeleteCaitlin & Will were the two best talents to come on the country scene in many a year. I have been waiting for a CD way too long. I wish them the best of luck, and hope they will be heard, again, very soon. DON'T STOP MAKING MUSIC!!!
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe Caitlin & Will got dropped. They are AWESOME! Shame on Columbia Records for not promoting them enough. Prime example of non-talent that gets promoted like crazy..Taylor Swift, Joey & Rory. Caitlin has a wonderful voice and really..isn't this what music is supposed to be about?
ReplyDeleteI got goose bumps the first time I heard Caitlin and Will sing together. They were magic together. I hope I can find them in the future as they go their separate ways.
ReplyDeleteHow dare they drop caitlin and wills- at least they had more talent than the last winners- steel magnolia's- i am sick of that song- i have been waiting for the cd are they stupid?
ReplyDeleteCaitlyn and Will need to stay together - you can't believe how many people have been waiting for their album. I am a huge country fan and I haven't been excited about buying an album for YEARS and I really wanted theirs. They are two people I would pay about anything to see live. The voice is what it is all about and those two together gave me chills like I haven't felt since the early days of the Judds!!! FOOLS COLUMBIA!!
ReplyDeleteYou have to be kidding. I have waited so long for their cd. i just go listen to them on the computer. I thought they had a deal with Sony.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer they where so great, i dont even watch that show anymore since their cd never came out and the losers did..something is wrong with that.
