Joe Nichols Reaches Out To Help Fans With Addictions

In conjunction with the release of a new song, “An Old Friend Of Mine” about his own struggle with alcohol addiction, Joe Nichols has launched a new website to inspire those in the same shoes. Partnering with The Hopeline, an outreach site dedicated to being a resource for those struggling with addiction, Joe Nichols is working to turn his personal struggle with addiction into a community where people can connect with one another and find a source of strength. The site features a video for his song and a personal message from Joe.

Joe says, "This site exists out of my desire to offer more than a song when talking about my struggle with addiction and recovery. The purpose of OldFriendofmine.com is to be a starting point resource for teens, families, parents, or individuals that are struggling with addiction or know some one who is."

AnOldFriendOfMine.com offers a variety of resources in connection with The Hopeline. Hopeline counselors will be moderating the chat room on the site on Thursday evenings from 7pm - 9pm EST to help site visitors find help and hope in a moment of need. The chat room also exists for people in recovery to talk with others around the world about how either they themselves or someone they know has said "Goodbye" to addiction.

In addition to the chat room, site visitors have the option to share their addiction story with Joe. Visitors can submit a written, audio, or video story for Joe to view.

"We hope you share your story with us. Thanks for joining this journey with me," says Joe.
