Earlier this year, "American Idol" third-place finisher Danny Gokey signed with RCA's Nashville label- below is his first radio single release. That Nashville Sound wants to know what you think of the new song "Best Days Are Ahead Of Me"…
I really enjoyed watching Danny on American Idol this past season. He has a great, distinctive voice with a lot of soulfulness. I wasn't sure what his country songs were going to sound like, but I have to say I really like this one. Very fun and upbeat. I also enjoyed the first track they released for his album this month, It's Only. A more serious and emotional song, but a beautiful demonstration of Danny's many strengths as a vocalist. Looking forward to the rest of Danny Gokey's country music album.
“My Best Days” is an upbeat, feel good song. I definitely can see this having wide appeal. Radio friendly, very popular in live performances. And the video will be fun. I am willing to bet they will have Danny dancing. Danny said that when it was first performed at Sony, someone said that they can easily see this song being played in a movie. Ironically, the DJ in San Francisco who interviewed Danny said the same thing. It certainly features Danny’s soulful voice. And it certainly fits his personality.
I really enjoy listening to this song, so light and upbeat yet inspirational. Caught my attention the first time i heard it, made me want to dance and think that better days are ahead. I also like It's Only for its message. Makes me excited to hear the rest of the album.
Danny, thank you for putting out meaningful and great music. You are an inspiration. Stay true to who you are.
This song has grown on me, the more you hear it, the more you are 'humming' it!! Danny appears to have some very good songwriters on his side - can't wait for the album! I am a huge fan of 'American Idol'. Although I live in the UK, I will have to wait longer - no fair :) I really wish that radio stations over here would pick up on this as I think it would be an instant hit!!! Very much like Taylor Swift's single:appeals to the pop and country 'markets'.
I have loved all 3 of the songs Danny Gokey has previewed from his album. Quality product so far and love that voice he has. Best Days is a great song! Very fun, singable and makes me move and want to dance! Definite crossover potential to pop also. Wish it was available for purchase now, though.

Perfect song for his first single release and I am really excited about hearing his new album. I never was much of a country music fan until now but Danny has found his niche in this genre and is on his way!
More vanilla pop instead of Country. Nice voice? yeah. nice tune? yeah. a Country hit? Hope not. How about Radio wakes up and creates a separate genre for these pop stars who aren't R&B or Hip Hop and can't get air time on pop stations...cause they sure aren't Country.
Different flavors of country. I'm not hard-core for the most part. This song has the right mixture of sweet vocals and musical arrangement that I enjoy. I like Josh Turner, Andy Griggs,Rascal Flatts, and even Alan Jackson. These newer ones like Lady Antebellum, Zach Brown, Darius Rucker,and Danny Gokey also fit the bill for country. It's good country music is opening to all styles.

More than that though, it's an amazing song of hope and encouragement for people of all ages. I love the upbeat and positive message. It clearly displays his heart behind the music. I can't wait to hear the rest of his songs. I'm not disappointed at all!
I love "Best Days" and "It's Only." I switched to a country station several weeks ago waiting to hear Danny. I'm liking more of what I'm hearing than I expected to like. I'm glad Danny chose country. I think country fits Danny's heart and character. I look forward to buying Danny's music.

"My Best Days" is a great choice for Danny's first single. Love the uptempo beat that immediately draws you in and makes you want to dance. Danny's voice is distinctive and instantly recognizable. This song provides a great platform for his vocals. The contemporary country genre looks to be a wonderful fit for the positive message that Danny hopes to bring. American Idol allowed him to establish a broad fan base. The first three songs that have been previewed from the CD certainly don't disappoint and should expand Danny's fanbase as more people are introduced to his vocal talents especially his signature "growl" and raspiness.

Saying that, I was pleasantly surprised that I really liked all 3 songs I have heard from this album because I am another new listener to country (thanks to Danny). My Best Days I've found myself humming during the day when I was not even thinking. Very, very catchy and good song.
