Sons Of Sylvia Release EP- Full-Length Album Launch Date Is April 27

In 2007, Sons Of Sylvia's Adam, Ashley and Austin established themselves as The Clark Brothers. Under this name, the trio won the top prize in the Fox Networks talent competition The Next Great American Band, and subsequently signed to Universal South Records. The band renamed itself Sons of Sylvia in October 2009.

Sons of Sylvia is featured in the song "What Can I Say" on Carrie Underwood's third album, Play On and join her on her "Play On Tour" all this year. The band was bumped from their record deal when Universal South and Show Dog Nashville merged to form Show Dog-Universal Music but will be releasing an album on Universal's sister label Interscope Records on 4/27/10.

A digital-only mini three-song EP is available as of this week from Amazon, i-Tunes and other download music services.

  3. These guys have that rare, crazy, amazing, God-given gift/talent that makes you always want more of their music. They have a touch of almost every established genre of music in their songs, yet they all have the same Sons of Sylvia sound, a category in itself. They play their many instruments and sing with such raw passion that it allows the listener to feel the music. They also sound just as amazing live as they do on their recordings, as can be seen in the rave reviews by new fans and the available video footage.

Between the talent, the passion, and the ability to perform live and sound as good as any recording - they are among a truly rare group of musicians - certainly even more rare among current/new bands. They can perform any song completely acoustic or full-on rock and roll, or with a bluegrass or country or gospel sound and all are equally amazing.

In a world where so much music is over-produced-even some good music, where there's no connection or feeling, where most artists are lip-synching their "live" performances, and so few can just jam on instruments and sing their heart out, these guys stand out like the brightest star on a clear night.

It usually would take multiple cd releases and years of tours to be on my top 10 and they were on it from the first I heard them play as The Clark Brothers. They can make anything sound like their own and have a completely, instantly identifiable sound.

With the 2 years of anticipation, in most cases, there wouldn't be much chance that their first release, and live performances could come close to living up to what I've been waiting for and hoping for since the first time I heard them (and the last time I heard them) but just as they amazed me with every performance on NGAB-where every song I wanted to hear again, I was beyond thrilled when I heard their new downloads, and heard their live performances on video and I can't get enough of their new music and their unique sound, all over again.

It was well worth the wait for their new music, and the first of many tours. I've never reviewed a band online like this and have never watched so carefully and searched so frequently for news of a music release, and told so many people-"you've GOT to hear these guys!" - I'm one of those people who just listens to what I like but doesn't much get involved or search for or wonder about the next release. But their sound inspired me and I've been anxiously waiting and hoping to hear their music again.

Sons of Sylvia's new music turned out to be so much better in reality than the greatness I anticipated/hoped for/expected, and I am so thrilled that everyone will have the chance to hear this amazing band - whenever we want, now that we have a digital release and upcoming cd.

For those of us who were so touched by their music as The Clark Brothers, it has been an amazing musical journey that thank goodness is only beginning. For those of you who weren't so lucky - you've got to hear them play, they are one of a kind!

  4. I for one am quite disappointed in the CD. They are hyping it to be a new sound, totally unique, when it's nothing hut a bunch of yelling and OMG they are off key some thing terrible! They were much better way back when it was all the brothers playing together. Better lead singer. I wish I could give them an A+ but I have to give this a D- . Sorry guys but the wait wasn't worth it!
