Flynnville Train (former label mates of Toby Keith on the Show Dog roster), has announced their sophomore album, Redemption, via their new endeavor with the independent label Next Evolution Records. The band’s Indiana-bred, blend of hard-drivin’ country and Southern rock brings listeners home where the heart is. With equal parts Skynyrd and Waylon, Flynnville Train’s edge likens them to the neo-Outlaw sound of popular artists such as Blackberry Smoke Reckless Kelly and Jamey Johnson.
They call their newest project of work “God-fearin’, women lovin’, workin’ man, stick-to-your-ribs music with twangy, dirty guitar riffs, and nostalgic vocals as gritty as a long dirt road.” The album is a clear testimony to the Flynnville Train—[Brian Flynn (lead vocals), Brent Flynn (lead guitar/vocals), Damon Michael (Bass), Tommy Bales (Drums)]—mission to make music “their way.”
“Much of the album we recorded on first take and that reinforces the emotion, the translation of our hearts in each song,” Brian Flynn, Flynnville Train’s lead singer explained. “Working along side the Barricks [brothers Dave and Dan], brings out the best in us. We all work for a living, have the same values, and the end result is a recording that hits home with folks just like us. We are truly blessed; Dave and Dan are 100% in our corner as our friends in music and our label heads.”
Their new single, “Preachin’ To The Choir,” (their first release in nearly three years) ships to radio June 7, with the full-length album to follow on July 20, 2010.
