Don Henley Of The Eagles Finalizing Solo Country Record

Don Henley has always had one foot in the world of country music. While the Eagles may have been one of the best examples of country-rock, few of their songs made their way onto country radio. Until their latest album, "Lyin' Eyes" was the only record by the group to make the country top forty.

In between legs of the current Eagles tour, Henley has been busy in the studio recording a distinctly country album, mixing covers with original material. Co-producing is Stan Lynch, former drummer for Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. He recently talked to the San Francisco publication called Diablo:

"Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers is one of my favorite bands of all time. I've known those guys for many years. Stan is one of my best friends, my son's godfather. We work together often and are currently co-producing my next album, which will be a collection of country songs, originals and covers. He's another quasi-redneck who is amazingly gifted and has a killer sense of humor. His dad was a professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville, and Stan lives on a sheep and timber farm, east of there."
