Garth Brooks has announced that he is releasing a new four CD boxed set entitled Blame It All On My Roots: Five Decades of Influences on November 19th through Walmart.
The new limited edition boxed set was revealed during his GATV special this past Saturday night. The set will feature Brooks covering 40 songs from artists who have influenced him throughout his life. Songs will include covers of James Taylor, Gladys Knight, Jerry Lee Lewis’s “Great Balls of Fire,” Marvin Gaye’s “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” and more.
Brooks' lovely bride Trisha Yearwood will appear as a background vocalist throughout the project and duet partner on the 1971 Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn classic, “After The Fire Is Gone."
Each of the discs will contain ten tracks from a certain period of music called Country Classics, Classic Rock, Blue-Eyed Soul and one entitled Melting Pot- which is described as songs that don’t fit the other categories, such as Cat Stevens’ “Wild World” and Simon & Garfunkel’s “Mrs. Robinson.”
