Sunny Sweeney Announces August 5 Release Date For Provoked

After a successful PledgeMusic campaign that both funded the recording and promotional costs of her upcoming album, Sunny Sweeney announced this week that her new album, Provoked, will be released on August 5. The first single off of the album, "Bad Girl Phase," has been in heavy rotation on Sirus/XM's The Highway channel and the single ships to the rest of radio this week.

Says Sweeney, "I’m teaming up with Thirty Tigers; new songs, new music, new approach …. I can’t wait for everyone to hear what I’ve been up to."

Sweeney was formerly with the Republic Nashville label and Big Machine Records. Her debut album, Heartbreaker's Hall of Fame, was independently issued in 2006 and then regionally released in 2007. It produced three regional (Texas, Oklahoma) singles in "If I Could", "Ten Years Pass" and "East Texas Pines", and these songs charted on the Texas Music Chart. In June 2010, the lead-off to her second studio album, "From a Table Away," became her first single to chart. Her second album, Concrete, was released in August of 2011. Provoked will be her third full album.

As an added bonus, a portion of the fundraising and sales of Provoked will be going to an amazing charity, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Northeast Texas, an organization that’s very near and dear to Sweeney's heart.
