Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband will have a new album coming out this fall called We Rode On that is available now through their live shows and will be made available through i-Tunes and physical sale through select stores in the fall. The Utah-based band is best known for their hit single "Dream Big" and "Banjo Boy" that came out on their 2005 Capitol Nashville release, Dream Big.
In their trademark humor, the band posted this about the process during the recording of the project, " Ryan is in the studio crafting, honing, refning, and awesomizing. Craig changed his bouzouki strings - do you know how hard those are to find? Roger learned the complete Slash Gutiar Solo Library. Tilby found a missing math assignment from 1998."
Ryan Shupe started playing the fiddle at age 5. He played in various musical groups growing up starting with a group of talented 10 yr olds called the "PeeWee Pickers" who toured nationally. His experiences in bands forming and then breaking up led him to the concept of a "rubber band". It would be elastic in members being able to rotate in and out without a name change or breaking a groove. Since their formation they have become one of the most successful musical acts from the state of Utah among other acts such as SHeDAISY, Peter Breinholt, and Neon Trees. The band also made an appearance on the popular U.S. Television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in 2006 for a family in Logan, Utah.
