Artist: Kate Bowen
Album: Songwriter Sessions
Label: Independent
Release date: August 22, 2017
You need to know about Kate Bowen. Hailing from a small Appalachian town in South Carolina, Bowen has been working in Nashville on a publishing deal for several years (originally known by stage-name Ella Mae Bowen) and getting cuts such as "I'll Go On" on Reba McEntire's chart-topping LP Love Somebody and singing the movie placement of a version of the 80's hit "Holding Out for A Hero" in the 2011 film Footloose. After recently switching publishing deals, Bowen has found a new start as a writer and artist, penning a deal with Jay Joyce's Neon Cross Music and Warner Chappell Music. Keith Urban himself called Kate “a beautiful blend of bold soul and human fragility."
On the new project, Bowen has this to say, "This album may just be a humble EP, of demos no less, but it stands for a new chapter. It's the first music I've released since going back to my real name. It's the first music I've released that I felt was better fit for the Alternative genre. It's a representation of what I do most everyday as I write songs for other people and myself. It's a snap shot of the vast production prowess of many, many songwriters and their rigs, and how many countless hours they pour into it. I hope you enjoy this journey to the real me."
