Hear It Here: Rosanne Cash, Sheryl Crow, Lori McKenna, Anais Mitchell, Josh Ritter and Mark Erelli Combine Forces on "By Degrees"

Rosanne Cash, Sheryl Crow, Lori McKenna, Anais Mitchell, Josh Ritter and Mark Erelli have joined forces to record a powerful new song that benefits Gabby Giffords Courage To Fight Gun Violence Foundation.

Cash calls the song “the most compassionate, vivid and non-preaching anti-gun violence song I’ve ever heard,” Erelli wrote the track which provides and introspective and sobering light on a topic that remains among the most heavily debated in the country.

With a chorus that reads “you can learn to live with anything when it happens by degrees,” Erelli suggests that little by little, we are becoming numb to the violence surrounding our nation. Perhaps most troubling is the tragic line painting the image of “little hands on little shoulders, children in a line… led away from school as the shots rang out inside.”
