The Golf and Guitars Music Festival is an annual two-day charity event put on each year by the Morton Golf Foundation. The event includes a golf tournament, country music concerts, a silent auction, and plenty of food and beverages. The 2023 iteration of Golf and Guitars marked the 15th event at Haggin Oaks. Since the first Golf and Guitars, the event has raised nearly $2 million for the Morton Golf Foundation and various other charities. Thank you to everyone who has supported Golf and Guitars over the years and check out our 2023 recap!
Monday: Singer/Songwriter Night
The first event in Golf and Guitars is always the singer/songwriter night which is for VIP Ticketholders only. The singer/songwriter night is much smaller than the main event the following night and it makes for a more intimate and relaxed experience. The event has various artists perform on a smaller stage inside the Haggin Oaks Pavillion and all the guests are served dinner. In addition to the concert, the Morton Golf Foundation presented this year's college scholarship awards! The event is a fun and lowkey night that gives VIP ticket holders a fun experience while celebrating the performers and scholarship award recipients.
Tuesday: The Golf Tournament
The Golf and Guitars tournament is scramble style with each group having one of the country music performers. This year there were 144 golfers in addition to the performers and we had 3 teams tie for first place with a score of 54. The first-place teams all won $5,000 that was donated to a charity selected by the performer of their group. The tournament is an exhilarating event where there is a sponsor booth at each hole offering merchandise, samples, or some sort of game. It is a unique opportunity for the performers to spend time with their fans and the Sacramento community before taking the stage. The players love it as well as it is a much more casual tournament with celebrities and fun activities. After taking on the links, it is time for the artist to talk on the stage.
The Main Event: The Concert
The main attraction of Golf and Guitars is always the concerts where the artists change out of golf clothes and take the stage in their country attire. This year's concert included 12 performers/groups with headliners Easton Corbin, Randy Houser, and Love & Theft. The concert also included heartwarming charitable acts like honoring some of our veterans and awarding the tournament prize checks to the winning artists.
Nearly 2,500 fans came out to this year's Golf and Guitars concert, and as previously mentioned, the event has raised nearly $2 million since it was founded. It is worth noting that all of the performers were not paid to do Golf and Guitars and chose to volunteer their time. Thank you to all the performers that shined at this event and made the whole thing possible. Thank you as well to everyone who attended Golf and Guitars and we hoped y'all enjoyed the show! We hope to see you again next year when we cross that $2 million mark!
