Nashville Songwriter Dreams Up Unique Fundraising Effort

Nashville songwriting is obviously a tough career full of hard knocks, competition and long lonely nights. It’s no secret that you can starve waiting for your first big break. So, armed with that knowledge, a new face in Music City named Angie Tracy has put together a fundraising plan called her “Dream Pillow” that will be filled with pieces of soft fabric with peoples names on it that help her fund her dream. Here’s the scoop directly from Tracy’s website:

It sounds kinda crazy I know....but I'm thinking we can help each other. You make a donation, and I will write your name, hometown, and personal wish or desire on a piece of fabric....and I will sleep on it every night that I lay in my own bed. I will sleep with YOUR name in my pillow!

Maybe our energies will combine and make good things happen for both of us. I typically have positive thoughts and very good dreams, so with your name in my pillow, maybe some of those good dreams of mine will help you as well. I kinda believe in that sort of thing. Not only will I be bringing you good luck and positive energy by having your name in my pillow, I will also be posting photos of all of the pieces of fabric from the pillow on the internet. Along with the photo of your piece of fabric, I will include a link to your website or your business in appreciation of your support.

If enough people believe and want to be a part of my Dream Pillow, I will hopefully be able to pursue my songwriting career full-time. I will be able to have professional demos made, and I will be able to sleep alot better at night because I'll have a soft, fluffy pillow full of good wishes and sweet dreams. One day, maybe I'll become a famous songwriter and maybe you'll see me on TV accepting some songwriting award, and you'll know that you helped make it happen. And then someday, maybe I'll donate the pillow so it can be displayed in the Country Music Hall of Fame. That would be cool. I know you want to be a part of THAT.

Periodically, I will be adding photos and updating the status of the Dream Pillow at

I will sleep on this pillow every night until one of my songs is recorded by a major artist and is played on the radio. Maybe even until I get my first #1 hit. I am stuffing this pillow with pieces of soft fabric that include the names of those that wish to help and want to be a part of helping me become a successful songwriter.
