Country Music Hall of Famer and Grand Ole Opry star Ray Price passed away at the age of 87 yesterday. Janie Price, Ray's wife, sent out the following message to fans through the family spokesperson, Bill Mack:

RAY PRICE LEFT FOR HEAVEN AT 4:43 PM CENTRAL TIME. HE WENT IN PERFECT PEACE. DETAILS LATER. JANIE AND THE FAMILY SO GRATEFUL FOR YOUR PRAYERS. RAY'S BODY WILL BE RECEIVED AT RESTLAND FUNERAL HOME IN DALLAS.Ray was a legend, one of the last of his generation in country music and will be sorely missed. Several wonderful obituaries have been written across the web but the one at Engine 145 (David Cantwell) and The Tennessean (Peter Cooper) are particularly terrific.
