Southern Family—a new compilation produced and conceived by Producer of the Year Grammy-nominee Dave Cobb—will be released March 18 on Low Country Sound/Elektra Records and is now available for pre-order.
Each album pre-order comes with an immediate download of the album’s lead track, John Paul White’s “Simple Song,” which premiered earlier this week as part of NPR Music’s “Songs We Love” series and can now be heard/shared here.
Of the project NPR Music’s Ann Powers praises, “Tapping into that depth of emotion within a carefully constructed framework—achieving authenticity not by taking craft and structure for granted, but by being so mindful that new levels of insight can be reached—is what Cobb's approach is all about.”
In addition to White, Southern Family features an all-star line up of artists including Jason Isbell, Zac Brown, Miranda Lambert, Morgane Stapleton with Chris Stapleton, Jamey Johnson, Anderson East, Holly Williams, Brent Cobb, Brandy Clark, Shooter Jennings and Rich Robinson.
